Nokia partners Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison to nurture Indonesia’s digital talent, targeting AI adoption capability


Nokia and Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison (Indosat or IOH) have on Friday announced their collaboration in providing Bell Labs’ learning and certification programs to university students, aiming to enhance Indonesia’s digital talent competencies.

The duo said in a statement the agreement was signed between Vikram Sinha, President Director and Chief Executive Officer of Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison, and Pekka Lundmark, President and Chief Executive Officer at Nokia, at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024 in Barcelona.

According to the statement, this collaboration aims to increase the capability of digital talent in Indonesia in adopting Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology.

As part of the initiative, in addition to the competence development program, Nokia and Indosat will discover potential talents and allow them to visit one of Nokia’s research and development innovation labs worldwide.

The participants are expected to earn a valuable chance to interact with the experts at Nokia’s premier research and development (R&D) innovation labs to enhance their knowledge and benefit from the latest technology developments, such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, security, and other advancements.

According to him, the agreement also marks a new chapter in the longstanding relationship between Nokia and Indosat.

“Learning from Nokia Bell Labs will not only introduce young and brilliant Indonesian youth to the latest technological developments but also empower them to play a more active role in the fast-becoming pervasive global digital economy,

“With the endeavor we administer, we believe we can contribute to achieving the nation’s vision of Golden Indonesia 2045,” he added.
